MILLEFIORI GLASS

Millefiori Glass translates to 'a thousand flowers' in Italian. It is a labour intensive glass production technique that involves fusing coloured rods together to resemble flowers. The final product is made into jewellery, vases and lamps. Sometimes called 'Murrine', the style was made famous by Venice glass company 'Murano', when they tried to replicate Roman designs.
